AG Processing's
Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler

          Project Schedule

Overall Project Length: 24 Months & Started October 1st, 2006

Time Allowed for Mechanical Piping Installation: 154 Days Starting October 1st, 2007

Project Description

The project consisted of the erection of a 300,000 lb. per hour circulating fluidized bed boiler which is intended to replace their two dated existing natural gas fired boilers.  This would allow for an efficient way through the burning of coal to increase their capacity of steam production while maintaining a more consistent supply of saturated steam at a constant pressure of 150 lbs.

Scope of Work

Mechanical & Process Piping: This included fabrication & installation of the following systems, Steam, Condensate, Boiler Feed-Water, Boiler Blow-Down, Chemical Feed, Boiler Drains, Boiler Relief Vents, Natural Gas, Ammonia Vaporization & Injection, Boiler Ash & Limestone Pneumatic Conveyor System, Ash Bed Cooling System, Boiler Blow-Down Heat Recovery System, Economizer Steam Soot Blower System, Treated Water & Boiler Feed-Water Make-UP

Piping Hanger & Support Systems: This included fabrication & installation of the following support systems, Roller Hangers with saddles for all insulated systems, Clevis Hangers on all un-insulated systems, Calculated Load Bearing Spring Hangers on steam systems, Structural Steel Spanning Members, Floor Stands & Piping Bridges

Piping System & Support Painting: This included one prime & one finish coat, color coded per piping system on all un-insulated piping & grey primer on all supports

Testing: This was hydrostatically done on all wet systems to 450 PSI & pneumatically done to 1 ½ times operating pressure on all dry systems.
