Midlands Mechanical has supported Nucor Steel in Norfolk, Nebraska, since the early 1980s. Over the years, we've been involved in a wide range of mechanical projects across the facility — from new system installs and shutdown support to critical repairs and upgrades. Scope of Work & Responsibilities:
With a partnership spanning more than 40 years, our work at Nucor includes:
- Installation, modification, and repair of process piping systems, including steam, condensate, compressed air, oil, fuel, domestic water, carbon powder, vacuum, and other specialized utility and production lines
- Hydraulic tubing and industrial plumbing across multiple production areas
- Domestic water and sanitary sewer system installation and maintenance
- Equipment hook-ups, relocation, and utility tie-ins for both new and existing systems
- Infrastructure expansions, re-routing of mechanical systems, and facility upgrades
- Full coordination and execution of shutdown and outage work
- In-house fabrication and field installation of mechanical components
- Ongoing maintenance support, emergency repairs, and long-term service coverage
